Glass Lake Studio offers a variety gifts suitable for weddings, housewarmings, anniversaries, Valentine's Day, Christmas (gifts and ornaments), etc.

We do custom work, which includes working with architects, interior designers, organizations, and private collectors.

There is also a large selection of unique glass art available from our gallery. Please contact us about what we have in stock. We will ship anywhere in North America. Wholesale orders are also available.

Gallery Information

In 1988, Barrie and I purchased a little house with a large yard, to build our dream studio. About a year later, as that dream was coming closer to reality, we decided to build a 30' x 32' pole barn for the glass studio. We spent every last penny to make it a functional and workable space for both of us. Barrie was dumpster diving for materials we needed. Our friends spent their weekends helping to hang drywall. And I cooked meals on an open fire for all who helped.

During March of 1990, it rained for two days, covering the whole backyard, with ankle-deep water. The next day, the arctic wind froze the entire yard, from which the studio got its name, “Glass Lake Studio”

It took us about two years to build all the equipment. During that time, our son, Rudi was born. While  we were doing the mommy and daddy duties, our first glass vessel was created.

We are grateful for the help of many people. Our thanks to: The Grindleys for hanging drywall; Joe Grindley for his knowledge on furnace building; Leonard Wilson for the plumbing; Mike Ronalter for finishing the walls; Bette and Bob Leach for their first purchase of glass; and Father Mark DeSutter and Father Ed Abelmann for christening the studio before we fired up. I am very grateful for my hard-working husband, Barrie Bredemeier, who never stops working and is the foundation of Glass Lake Studio.
