Why my initials spell my name...

When I was eight years old, my father said it was time to get a social security card. I began to fill out the form and stopped at "Middle Name". I never used a middle name before. (Sometimes I didn't even spell "Young" correctly.)

I asked my mother what my middle name was, and she said I didn't have one. Naturally I started wailing so she said, "Just pick one..." And my clever sister Sophie (she was eleven at the time) said, "If you pick 'Margaret', your initials will spell your name." That was the coolest thing I'd heard of, so I just put it down.

Have you figured out why Germans like wikis so much?

IThinkIHaveButAmNotCompletelySure.

How do you feel about being a Gemini?

Part of me likes it and part of me doesn't.

Tell me some of your oxymorons.

Ah. My all-time favorite is "vacation Bible school". I also like "jumbo shrimp", "ice water", "people person" and "new tradition".

Who is Therma?

This is another good story. I was a very formal little kid and thought calling my mother "Mom" was much too casual and practically disrespectful. So I always called her "Mother". My older sisters teased me about it and I got sick of the teasing, so I invented "Therma", because it's the syllables of Mother inverted. Now she calls herself that!

What is "Pocari Sweat"?

It's a Japanese fitness drink, like Gatorade. But I don't know what a pocari is.

Did you really win a parallel parking contest?

No.
